Self-exploration and worth, individual advocacy, and support—these are just a few words I would use to describe the mission of FRIENDS of Broomfield. FRIENDS provides adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities the opportunity to travel, build meaningful relationships, develop personal independence, and work within their community. The relationships I’ve built with each participant and the skills I’ve learned while working at FRIENDS have been nothing less than amazing. The connections, the inclusivity, and, of course, the karaoke, make it easy to love my job and constantly remind me of the impact FRIENDS has not only on our participants but on our dedicated team as well.
