Behavioral Support Services

At FRIENDS of Broomfield, our mission is to ensure that adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities have a voice in the community and access to person-centered support that promotes independence and choice. Through our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) services, we empower individuals to overcome behavioral barriers, fostering greater community access, relationship-building, and an improved quality of life.

Our Approach to ABA Therapy

At FRIENDS ABA Services, we believe in transparency and honesty. Our goal is to provide a holistic, individualized approach to ABA therapy that prioritizes the needs of the individuals we serve. We develop customized behavior plans and programming tailored to each person’s unique needs, focusing on:

  • Increasing independence and daily living skills

  • Supporting alone time and self-sufficiency

  • Enhancing access to and maintenance of employment

  • Improving social and communication skills

  • Strengthening self-help and hygiene skills

  • Reducing dangerous or inappropriate behaviors

We view staff training and recommendations as a collaborative, educational process. Rather than imposing directives, we work alongside individuals, caregivers, and interdisciplinary teams (IDTs) to develop effective strategies. Additionally, we assist with data collection to help individuals secure and maintain the appropriate Medicaid tier, ensuring access to essential services and advocacy. Our philosophy is "need over greed"—our focus is on providing the right level of support, not maximizing billable hours.
